1983: Expansion of pickling factory capacity
With the expansion of our pickling factory capacity, we looked to try our hand at other pickled products as well. Our highly popular Wakame-Shibazuke is one product that helped to thrust Endo Foods Processing Co., Ltd., before the public eye and beyond the narrow scope of attention extended by sushi-related customers. At the time, kuki wakame seaweed was rendered into filamentous strands by employing a process that involved pulling on them with one end tied down with pin holders. This helped to expand our customer base, which had previously consisted of sushi-related operations, and led to greater appeal for our products among clients in other businesses.

From around this time, ginger was no longer procured only from Thailand. Basic ingredients began to be imported from China as well.
Ginger and other basic ingredients are presently purchased primarily from Thailand and China.
In Thailand, ginger is principally cultivated and exported from Chiangrai province. In China, the key centers of cultivation and export are Fujian, where a Chinese factory is located, and Shandon.
July 1994: Opening of the Kanma storage house
A large storage house measuring 6,600 square meters in floor space was established at a site located three kilometers south of our head office. The opening of this storage house enabled the storage of large volumes of basic ingredients imported from abroad.
The Kanma storage house has since been supplemented by the opening of the Ishizuka storage house.
January 1999: New company building completed
The present company building was completed. With the adoption of an order acceptance and production control system, the processing of orders and shipments was significantly improved.
